While it is not mandatory to take the SAT exam after a gap year when applying to universities, students who wish to strengthen their academic profiles and applications can consider taking the SAT exam. The SAT score submissions can show the competitive level of applicant against others and also help them in getting scholarships.

Ohio University does not require ACT or SAT scores for admission to undergraduate programs. Ohio University is considered to have test optional policy which means it doesn't consider standardized test scores like ACT or SAT as mandatory admission requirements. Applicants must fulfill other mandatory requirements such as a bachelor's degree for PG programs and a high school certificate for undergraduate programs. Applicants can submit their SAT scores if they wish to, in order to enhance their profile and increase their chances of acceptance.

Low SAT or ACT scores (if compulsorily required by a university) might not get compensated by a statement of purpose. However, if you write a compelling SOP of undergraduate courses, your drive, motivation, and accomplishments will be highlighted and you will greatly improve your chances of getting selected in your desired UG score. Extracurricular activities and admissions essays will help you offset a low SAT/ACT score. You must concentrate on developing a complete application that adheres to the precise requirements and instructions given by the university.
