Shiksha.com information indicates that the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Imphal does not administer any noteworthy entrance exams for UG Diploma admission. The majority of the time, admissions are made based on merit as well as results from prior degrees or school board exams. Consequently, NIELIT Imphal does not require entrance exam results in order to admit students to its UG Diploma programmes. Candidates must, however, fulfil specific requirements, such as graduating from any accredited school or board with a 12th grade Diploma or its equivalent.

To get the admission to B.Sc programs, candidates must have at least 80 to 85 percentile in the NCHMCT JEE for selection into top institutes. The selection process involves an entrance exam, where candidates need to pass their Class 12th Science stream with 50% marks or 45% marks for SC/ST candidates. The selection is based on the marks obtained in the NCHMCT JEE. The NCHMCT JEE cutoff marks are determined by the exams difficulty level and may change each year based on candidates performance and evaluation.
