Yes! Cost of living in Singapore is high. Rent can take up 20-30% of your income. Average salary in Singapore is higher than in India. After covering expenses like rent, food, and transport, savings potential in Singapore is generally much higher. 3 to 5 times what you might save in a similar role in India.

No. English is official language of instruction and business. You can complete your degree and work in a corporate role without knowing Mandarin. Entire ecosystem operates in English. However, picking up a few basic conversational phrases is a smart strategic move for faster social bonding.

This is a serious legal contract. If you break the bond (i.e., you do not work in a Singapore entity for 3 years), you are liable to pay "Liquidated Damages." This amounts to the total tuition subsidy you received plus compounded interest (usually 10% per year). Do not sign the Singapore Tuition Grant 2026 if you intend to leave immediately.

Generally, no. If you have scored above 75-80% in English in your Class 12th boards (CBSE/ISC), Public Universities in Singapore usually waive the English proficiency requirement. However, for a Master's degree, it is often required unless your undergraduate degree was taught entirely in English.

Both are very good but in different areas. Harvard has the better global reputation and stonger connections globally. NUS has better connections in Asia, similar quality of placements, and is far more affordable than Harvard University. In terms of culture, there is greater diversity at Harvard, compared to NUS. Students have better chances of admission at the National University of Singapore, as Harvard's acceptance rate is just 3.6%.
