A candidate must have passed the 10+2 exam with Physics and Mathematics as required subjects along with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Technical Vocational Subjects in order to be eligible for admission to Sir MVIT for a B.Tech degree. obtained a minimum of 45% (or 40% for candidates from Karnataka's reserved category) in the combined subjects listed above.

The eligibility criteria for MBA at Sir MVIT are as follows:
- Candidates who have completed a recognised bachelor's degree programme lasting at least three years or an equivalent examination and who have obtained at least 50% of the total marks possible in all subjects, including languages, across all years of the degree examination are eligible to apply for admission to the MBA program.
- Candidates from SC, ST, and Category I of the Karnataka state will only be eligible for reservations.
