To get admission into SMIT Sikkim, first check the eligibility criteria for your desired course because some of the admissions are based on merit and others entrance-based. Apply online through the official website of Sikkim Manipal University. The applications are usually opened in November. Candidates are shortlisted based on scores obtained in national-level entrance exams like JEE Main, NET, CAT, or MAT. For those candidates who do not have scores from such exams, SMIT conducts its entrance exam. In addition to GDPI, an MBA aspirant has to go through Group Discussion and Personal Interview. No, SMIT Sikkim does not have any provision for direct admissions. The admission to SMIT courses is either merit-based or entrance-based. For merit-based courses, the institute shortlists candidates based on their merit secured in the qualifying exam.
SMIT Sikkim accepts various national-level entrance exam scores to shortlist candidates for entrance-based courses. Also, SMIT conducts its own entrance exam for those who have not appeared for any national-level entrance exam.

The authorities release SMIT 2026 results in the form of a rank list a few days after the exam is over. Candidates will be able to check their obtained scores and rank through the SMIT result. It is to be noted that the authorities will not use any other methods, such as post or fax, to declare the result of SMIT 2026.
