No, it is not compulsory to take SRMJEEM if a candidate already holds a valid score from recognised entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT, NMAT, TANCET, or SAT India. SRM IST considers all these exams as alternative for eligibility. However, for applicants who haven't appeared for any of these national-level tests, SRMJEEM becomes the mandatory test to qualify for admission. Admission to MBA at SRM IST Vadapalani is primarily entrance-based. Students must appear for SRMJEEM (SRM Joint Entrance Exam for Management) national-level test conducted by SRM IST. Alternatively, candidates can apply using scores of exams such as CAT, MAT, NMAT, CMAT, TANCET, or SAT India. After meeting the minimum score requirement in any of these exams is only the first step. Based on entrance test scores, shortlisted candidates are then required to appear for a personal interview round conducted by SRM IST. Final selection is based on both exam performance and interview round.

While comparing SRM IST BTech with other colleges, it's essential to evaluate rankings (like NIRF or QS) and accreditation such as NAAC. Look into student-faculty ratio, research output, and availability of advanced labs and infrastructure. Past placement records, average salary packages, top recruiters, and internship support are also crucial. Additionally, assess the scholarship options available.
