The University of Alberta does not ask for GRE scores from international graduate applicants. However, the university recommends that international students submit GRE scores, especially if their degree is not from a well-known university or their GPA score is low. Along with this, students must fulfill the basic eligibility by holding a bachelor's degree from a recognised university and submit some mandatory documents such as transcripts, a letter of recommendation, English language requirements, and more.

  • English language proficiency test scores
  • Statement of purpose
  • An updated CV/resume
  • References, if any
  • Employment history, if any
  • A copy of valid passport

Some programs might have additional requirements, thus, it is mandatory to refer to the official programme list for program-specific submissions.

Starting early will help the students in making the right choice regarding the insurance provider. They can also get time to compare the cost of various available policies and get the insurance cover as per the Irish immigration requirements and at the best prices available. It is important to note that the proof of insurance is required for registration with immigration authorities. A comprehensive medical insurance is needed by international students planning to study in Ireland. The insurance must provide a coverage of minimum of €25,000 for accident and €25,000 for illness. Also, it should cover any period of hospitalization through out the term of the insurance. Repatriation cover is another aspect one should consider while selecting the health insurance policy. The students can also look for insurance policies where dental and optical coverage are included.
