Your educational institute will send you a reference number called a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) once they admitted you for the course. Candidates need to enter this number on their visa application.

If you are a national from the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you do need a visa to pursue your higher education in the UK. Students from all other nationalities need to have a valid UK student visa to study in the UK.

As per an unofficial source, the Computer Science programme at Stanford is better than that of the University of Michigan. The Stanford's Computer Science programme ranks #1 where the programme at the University of Michigan ranks at #10 position. The rankings are based on various factors. Students must prefer Stanford over the University of Michigan, however the tuition cost at Stanford is more than the University of Michigan.
