The JNN Group of Institutions has gained significance as a premier education provider in southern India and has expanded its institutions across the state of Tamil Nadu. Yes, as part of the Alamelu Ammaal Memorial Scholarship, JNNIE Chennai gives financial concessions to meritorious students from the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh. The relief provided is fixed up to an amount of INR 3,00,000 to students achieving more than 170 marks in their 10+2 examinations.
The concessions offered by JNNIE Thiruvallur as part of the Alamelu Scholarship includes tuition fees, transportation costs, and food charges. In order to maintain the regular process of the Alamelu Scholarship Scheme, the student must sustain a CGPA of 8.5 or above over the course of her/his entire course duration.

The Placement Cell is headed by the Principal of JNNIE Chennai, and is complemented by various other members from across the faculty, as well as students. The career training is often imparted to interested final-year students in conjunction with other departments like the R&D Cell, Centers of Excellence, and Entrepreneurship and Development Cell.

JNN Institute of Engineering is part of a diverse group of institute managed by the JNN Group of Institutions, and offers multiple course-stream choices in Engineering and Management. Within JNNIE Chennai's faculty itself, the academics are divided among 6 different departments according to the respective courses. Admissions for the Engineering courses (BE, BTech) at JNNIE Chennai are based on the merit system. Candidates must acquire not less than 55% marks in their 12th qualifying examinations. Also, they are required to appear for the counselling sessions of the TNEA process. For admissions into the MBA programs at JNNIR Thiruvallur, candidates must appear and qualify the TANCET exam. Applicants must note that separate 12th level qualifications exist for special categories of students like BC, MBC, SC/ST etc.
