Yes, Thapar University offers scholarships to MSc students on the basis of their scores achieved in their bachelor's degree. The university offers merit scholarships to the deserving students in the form of fee concessions of 30% to 50% on their tuition fees. For more details, check out the below table:

To continue the Thapar University MSc scholarship in the second year of the course, candidates are required to qualify for certain eligibility criteria. They are requried to acheive a minimum of 8.50 CGPA in all the preceding semester and should not have any backlog in the year of consideration and must have passed all the courses offered in the semester prior to the year of consideration.

In case of a tie among candidates securing equal marks in the Thapar University MSc merit list, the same will be broken in accordance with the following criteria:
- Candidates senior in age shall rank higher in order of merit.
- In the case of a tie in age also, a candidate getting a higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination shall be ranked higher in order of merit.
- In the case of a tie in percentage of marks in the qualifying examination also, a candidate securing a higher percentage of marks in matriculation/secondary or equivalent examination shall rank higher in order of merit.

The documents that are required for admission to MSc courses at Thapar University are meant to be proof of educational qualification, etc. The names of the documents that candidates should bring at the time of a counselling or while applying for the course online are:

Yes, candidates appearing in their final exam for the BSc degree can apply for an MSc at Thapar University. However, such candidates have to submit their undertaking at the time of counselling stating that they are applying at their own risk, as their result of the final exam has not been declared, and ensure that they do not have any backlogs in previous semesters. Further, the undertaking also demands that students not expect any backlog in their final exam.

Yes, candidates can apply now for admission to MSc courses at Thapar University. To apply for the course, candidates can fill out the application form through the official website of the university. Moreover, as per the previous academic years, the classes usually commenced in the month of July each year. Therefore, it can be assessed that before july candidates can apply for an MSc at Thapar University.

Admission to the TIET MSc course is merit-based, which candidates usually evaluate on the basis of scores achieved in Class 12 or bachelor's/BSc degrees. Admissions for all the MSc programmes shall be carried out on a merit list prepared by giving 40% weightage to Class 12 marks and 60% weightage to Graduation marks (aggregate marks up to the pre-final year). The minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST) in graduation shall be required to qualify for admission. Graduation should be from a recognised University.
