Candidates for admission to Thapar University's (LM Thapar School of Management) MBA programme must have a bachelor's degree in any field with at least 50% of the possible points (45% for SC, ST, and PwD categories) or an equivalent CGPA from an accredited university. Professional credentials such as ACS, ICWA or CA can also be used to qualify applicants. Students in their last year may apply provisionally.

Valid results from the CAT, XAT, NMAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT, GRE or SNAP are required for admission. The Thapar Management Aptitude Test (TMAT) is an additional option for candidates.
