No, JEE Main is mandatory for BTech admission in Thapar University. The candidate should have a valid score in JEE Main and attend counseling to get a seat. But for other UG and PG courses such as MSc, MA, and MCA, admissions are made on a merit basis, i.e., JEE is not mandatory.

Thapar University does not hold its own BTech entrance exam; it's done through JEE Main, which is moderate to tough. MBA requires CAT, NMAT, or XAT, competitive exams. M.Tech GATE is challenging but can be cracked if one prepares for it.

Scholarships such as Merit-based, Merit-cum-means, for Msc, MA and other PG courses are provided to the eligible students. Candidates must the eligibility criteria to avail these scholarship programs.
