As per my knowledge, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is one of the best engineering colleges in India. Amazing faculty, infrastructure, campus life, comfortable accommodation, food, and placement facilities make TIET worth it. Hello,Chandigarh University is a better option than Chitkara or Thapar University. It is a certified NAAC + grade. Good infrastructure and highly qualified staff. Friendly campus life. All the best.

The placement records at Thapar university have always been strong. Thapar being in the industry since the last 6 decades have a little edge over some of the colleges present in its Tier. The last 3 batches (B.Tech as I am not sure which placements record you were asking about) have been placed at some of the prominent companies. Some of the companies are there present in the fortune 500 lists as well. Yes, for Computer Science Engineering, the Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology is one of the bests in India. It has been ranked 23rd under NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) by the Government of India rankings. They provide the best placements in big brands like KPMG, IBM, Microsoft, Adobe, and many more. About 95% of the students were placed with pretty high packages. Hello,The minimum marks required to get into Thapar University in is to have 20% marks in JEE Mains that is scoring a minimum of 72 marks will make you eligible for admission. But you will not be getting any Core Branches. Also if your marks are around 90 don't expect seats from direct counseling.

I will suggest you to choose the branch according to your interests but can definitely assure you that Thapar is one of the premium colleges and you should definitiley go for it. The placements are world class for both the branches. Big companies participate in the placement cell. They always try to improve the quality of its technology based systems as every year passes by.
