There is no major difference exists in the registration process for both versions of TOEFL. For TOEFL iBT at a test center, you select your preferred location during registration. For the Home Edition, you choose a suitable date and time for taking the test at home

It is better to register for TOEFL at least 2–3 months before your university application deadline, so your TOEFL scores reach on time. You can do TOEFL registration as early as 6 months before the exam, or also as late as 2 days before the test date.

For LLM admissions abroad, you need to take english proficiency test such as IELTS or TOEFL, if english is not your native language. However, you don't need to take GRE or GMAT, unless the course specifically requires it.
