Here's the general list of documents that are needed for admission to Transportation Engineering courses at Indian colleges:

·       Graduation Mark Sheet with at least 55% marks (for PG courses)

·       Class 12 Mark Sheet with 50 to 60% marks in PCM

·       Entrance Exam Scorecard and Admit Card (if applicable)

·       A Valid ID Proof like PAN, Aadhar, Passport, etc.

·       Transfer and Character Certificates (may be needed)

·       Recent Passport-size Photos

·       Reserved Category Certificate (if applicable)

For studying UG courses in Transportation Engineering, you should meet the basic eligibility requirements that is getting at least 50 to 60% marks in the PCM subjects in Class 12. For PG courses, you should have at least 55% marks in BTech Civil Engineering or a related course. After that, you must give relevant entrance tests and get excellent marks in the same.

The next important step is to fill out the college application forms before the last date. After the exam results are out and you've got your marks, you need to apply for the college counselling process where you'll be allotted a seat according to your marks and rank in the entrance exam.

After getting the seat, you have to go to the college and pay the Transportation Engineering course fee and start attending the classes as per schedule.

Reputed institutes that impart education in M.Tech Geotechnical and Transportation Engineering are IITs, Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur, NITs Surathkal, Warangal, Trichy, IISc Bangalore and DTU. Other reputed programs in these specializations are provided by the Anna University and the Jadavpur University.

Career Opportunities:
In teaching field, M.Tech graduates can go for PhD and can become Assistant Professor having a package of INR 6-10 LPA initially. During corporate placements certain key areas such as infrastructure development construction consultancy firms that include Larsen and Tourbo L&T and Tata Projects etc. offer a pay scale of INR 8-15 LPA. These fields have increasing applications in urban planning and road design and constructions in large civil projects.
