Both TCD and UCD are top choices to study in Ireland for Indian students. Both have their strong points, and the choice of which is better depends on the subject, budget, and lifestyle preferences of a student.
TCD is better for:
- Arts, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy, Humanities, and Computer Science
- More compact campus
- Central location (easy commute, but more expensive)
UCD is better for:
- STEM, Business, and Agricultural Sciences
- Large, modern campus
- More on-campus housing options (but based further out)

As per the official website of University College Dublin, the admissions are quite competitive. It means that even after meeting all the admission requirements, a strict admission process follows.
The reason is the competition and generally, there are more candidates for some seats. The applications are assessed primarily based on academic criteria.
The admissions are carried out on a rolling basis, means the applications are accepted to be reviewed till there is space.
