The JN Tata Endowment Scholarship is a financial aid programme started by Jamsetji Tata, the promoter of the Tata Group in the year 1892. Its mission is to provide financial aid to students looking to pursue their higher studies from abroad.

The aid is based solely on merit & aims to recognize the "most gifted & best individuals to make them of great service to the country".

The University of Birmingham & University of Bristol are part of the top-ranking institutions in the UK. While Birmingham ranks #13, the University of Bristol secures a UK-wide rank of #7 as part of the latest Shiksha Popularity Rankings. The acceptance rate, however, varies highly.

The University of Birmingham acceptance rate stands at 13%, while that of the University of Bristol is around 46%. Bristol is nearly three times as easy to secure admissions at as Birmingham, accepting on average 4.6 applications out of every 10 it receives.

A major university ranking publication ranks it #80 as part of its World University Rankings 2025,  cementing its status as one of the best higher educational institutions globally.

Its difficult to come down and pin point a single preferred  course by indian students at University of Birmingham but according to dew gathered data some of the popular courses are Computer science, Aeronautical Engineering, Biology, Business Courses, Ecinomics, Law (Llm) and MBA. Other courses are like civil engineering and also it is popular for post graduate research studies.

Both institutions are considered part of the best universities in the UK. Despite that both have a contrasting nature of granting admissions to students. The University of Greenwich acceptance rate stands at around 65-70%, while that of University of Birmingham stands at 13%. It can be inferred that while both are selective at granting admissions, UOB is nearly 6 times harder to secure admission to as compared to the University of Greenwich. 

Prospective candidates must perform exceedingly well in past academics as well as entrance examinations to have a chance of securing a seat at the University of Birmingham.

Birmingham has seen a rise in the number of Indian students in the last few years with thousands of students visiting every year to study in the city.

Yes, Birmingham is considered among the best & the safest places for international students to live & study in.  The institute has become a hub for international students in the last few years with individuals from over 200 countries taking up Birmingham as their new home.

A key reason why Birmingham is so popular is because of its lower costs of housing as compared to some other areas in England.
