No, it is not that easy to get into the LLM courses at the University of Birmingham. Although, the University of Birmingham does not specifically release the LLM courses acceptance rate. The University of Birmingham acceptance rate is only 38% for UG and PG courses both. Given below are the admission requirements - 

  • A UG degree (2:1 equivalent in Law) with a good GPA
  • Law coursework
  • English proficiency test like TOEFL, IELTS or PTE (with a good score)
  • A personal statement
  • An application made via the official portal of the university
  • LORs

The LLM courses at the University of Birmingham are some of the best in the UK. These courses are ranked by some of the best ranking bodies of the world like ARWU (Shanghai Ranking), THE (Times Higher Education) and QS.

Yes, the University of Birmingham is one of the best universities for LLM or Law. As per the Commercial Law, the ranking for these courses is among the top 25

International students need to meet admission requirements like -

  • A 2:1 hons degree in a relevant subject
  • English language proficiency 
  • Entrance test if needed 

The fee for the University of Birmingham  LLM course (Commercial Law) is GBP 11,250 (INR 13.5L) for full-time.

The Univ of Birmingham expects students to have a minimum of three years of professional experience, although five years is preferable for MBA. The university doesn't mandate GMAT, but it will consider the scores of the same if submitted. The English language requirements are: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 88, and PTE 67.

For the session of 2026/27 of Univ of Birmingham autumn term of the university is from Sep 28, 26 to Dec 11 of 2026 while spring term will last from Jan 11 of 2027 to Mar 26 of 2027. Lastly summer term will last from Apr 26 of 2027 - Jun 25, 2027. The welcome session is from Sep 21 of 2026 to Sep 25 of 2026

For fall intake students can expect to receive their offer letter between June - July whereas if students are joining Uni of Birmingham in jan they can expect to receive their offer letter between Nov and Dec.

Students will need to submit the official academic records (signed and stamped), a copy of a passport that's valid for the period of the exchange and plus proof of English language proficiency while applying online to the Birmingham University's admission process.
