Both institutions are considered part of the best universities in the UK. Despite that both have a contrasting nature of granting admissions to students. The University of Greenwich acceptance rate stands at around 65-70%, while that of University of Birmingham stands at 13%. It can be inferred that while both are selective at granting admissions, UOB is nearly 6 times harder to secure admission to as compared to the University of Greenwich.

Prospective candidates must perform exceedingly well in past academics as well as entrance examinations to have a chance of securing a seat at the University of Birmingham.

Yes, Birmingham is a good & the safest places for international students to live & study.  The institute has become a hub for international students in the last few years. Students from over 200 countries come Birmingham. A key reason why Birmingham is so popular is the lower costs of housing as compared to some other areas in England.
