The University of East London Professional Mentoring scheme matches students and professional staff from industries and organizations. It is a great way to find out about the world of work and to receive advice and guidance from a successful professional. So far, around 1,200 of the university's students have benefitted from the scheme. Companies included in the mentoring scheme include BT Sport, London City Airport, Accenture, HSBC, Barclays, etc.

Yes, as an international student, the University of East London can work part-time, however, the working hours are limited. The number of working hours is limited to 10 or 20 hours per week depending on the course. Also, check the other conditions before taking part-time. Students are not allowed to engage in the following professions:

  • Be self-employed or engage in business activity
  • Take employment as an entertainer
  • Take employment as a professional sportsperson including a sports coach
  • Fill a full-time permanent vacancy
  • Be a doctor or dentist in training
