In order to pursue BTech from an MU-affiliated college, the selection is based on merit scores obtained by the students in Class 12 followed by a valid score/ rank in MHT-CET or JEE Main. MU admission to all courses starts in the month of June and the deadline for filling up and submitting the Mumbai University admission form and pre-admission online enrollment form for UG programmes is usually June.

No, it's not considered as a 2nd attempt. But at some places the improvement marksheet is not accepted. Means they treat it as a 2nd attempt, but at maximum places it is accepted i.e. they treat it like 1st attempt.

But don't worry for the places who don't accept the improvement marksheet use original 12th marksheet at those places for admission process.

Yes, you will be admitted directly in the second year of engineering after you complete post SSC Diploma in engineering (polytechnic) from DTE recognised institute.

DTE every year conducts Central Admission Process (CAP) for such lateral entry. They start this process as soon as all the universities from Maharashtra announces their first year engineering results or just after first year engineering admission process completes. Normally it is observed that every non-minority college with 60 intakes has minimum of 12 seats reserved for Diploma holders.
