ARWU has ranked the University of Toronto very highly along with great the top subject rankings as well. In the year 2025, Toronto University is ranked #25 which is a slight improvement from what is was the last year.
The given parameters are used to rank the unis like the University of Toronto by the Shanghai rankings -

Yes, the Financial Times rankings have ranked the University of Toronto in the year 2025.
As per these rankings, the University ranks #81 in 2025 which is an improvement from it's previous year rank.
Financial Times is one of the newspapers that ranks the universities based on the MBA courses and the business schools.

University of Toronto is ranked by Shiksha Popularity Ranking as #1 Law school in Canada. UofT as it is called attains global rank #16 as part of the latest QS Law rankings with placing it amongst the best universities in the world in 2026.

The University of Toronto is one of the top ranked universities in the world and it is ranked by some of the most influential ranking bodies of the world.
As per the QS rankings in the year 2026, UToronto has been ranked #26. The ranking has decreased from #25 in 2025. The subject ranking for 2025 are not released by the QS.

Both universities have their own strengths. Uni of Toronto is better for students interested in studies at a university with prestige and quality research. Toronto as a city also offers better social, cultural, and career opportunities. Students also get more course options to choose from.
UWaterloo is better if students are interested in STEM courses. It also offers the the largest co-op program in the US and Canada. Waterloo Uni maintains strong industry connections of its own.
