Yes, international students are allowed to work part-time. But some work may require a work permit and some a study permit. Students are advised to check all the requirements before applying.

Yes, the University of Toronto permits international students to work while studying. International students can work up to 24 hours per week off campus, without a work permit in Canada if they meet every eligibility criteria listed below:

  • Must be a full-time student at a designated learning institution (DLI)
  • Must be enrolled in either of the following
    • a post-secondary academic,  vocational or professional training program or
    • a secondary-level vocational training programme (Quebec only)
