No, international students are not directly granted work licenses by the University of Vienna. Applying for a work permit allows international students who have a "Residence Permit – Student" to work up to 20 hours per week. Despite having this authorization, they are still need to apply for a work permit from the Austrian Public Employment Service (Arbeitsmarktservice - AMS) in order to work at the University of Vienna and as regular university employees.
