Below is the Utreched University Admission Requirements:
Undergraduate requirements:
Indian students from (CBSE) must have an average of 80% in at least 5 general/academic subjects
Indian Students must have a CISCE average of 80% in at least 5 general/academic subjects
Students can submit a Senior Secondary Certificate (NIOS): an average of 80% in at least 5 general/academic subjects
Note: Exempt from English proficiency if the Diploma is obtained at CBSE, CISCE, NIOS AND fully English-taught.
An English proficiency test (IELTS, TOEFL, or CAE) is required for students who have not been taught fully in English. V

Utrecht University is less expensive for international full time students than Leiden Uni with tuition fees being 8759 EUR lower for Utrecht Uni. However cost of living and housing in Utrecht is generally more expensive than in Leiden. Daily cost in Utrecht is 189 EUR while in Leiden it is 133 EUR.
Tuition fees for international students at Utrecht Uni are different from 5031 USD per year for UG and PG programs. On the other hand, tuition fees for international students at Leiden Uni can range between €6000 and €20000 per year.

To be eligible for the Utrecht Excellence Scholarship (UES) at Utrecht Uni one must have fulfilled the following criteria
- Belong to the top 10% of your graduating class.
- Not holding an EU/EEA passport and not being eligible for support under the Dutch study grant and loan system.
- Have completed your secondary school and/or bachelor's degree outside the Netherlands.
- Have applied for an international master's programme with a start date as mentioned officially

Yes, there are many students from other countries studying at Utrecht University. According to the university's website, every year thousands of international students come to Utrecht to participate in English-language academic programs, exchange programs, and the largest summer school in Europe. In addition, Utrecht University has signed the Dutch Code of Conduct concerning international students, which guarantees proper recruitment, selection, and coaching of international students. As of 2024, there are about 2000 international degree students and approximately 1200 exchange students studying at Utrecht University.

Yes, an average Indian student can join Utrecht University. University has specific entry requirements for Indian applicants including a min percentage requirement for Grade 12, course specific requirements and English proficiency. For example Indian applicants who have completed Grade 12 with 80% (best of five) can apply for UG courses at Utrecht Uni. Additionally university requires a mini percentage of 75 for admission.
