Candidates with a minimum of 75% marks at +2 level of education (Intermediate/CBSE/ICSE/HSC and all State Boards or Equivalent with Science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics) are eligible to apply.
The programs are open to all students who have completed / expect to complete +2 stages with at least three of the four subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) as their optional subjects with a minimum of 75% at +2 level.
Preference in admission will be given to students possessing KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) scholarship. They need not have to appear for CAT, but they have to apply for CAT through online and should pay the application fee.

Lateral Entry) at CUSAT, a candidate should pursue a three-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology awarded by a Board of Technical Education recognised by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala, with not less than 60% marks. Additionally, candidates with a Diploma in Plastic Technology and Diploma in Plastic Mould Technology offered by CIPET are also eligible for B.Tech Mechanical Engineering Lateral Entry and B.Tech Polymer Science and Engineering Lateral Entry respectively. For Instrumentation and Control Engineering, a three-year Diploma in Instrumentation or Electronics awarded by a recognised board with not less than 60% marks is required.
