Yes, from 2011 onwards, 4 years Bachelor of Science (Research) programme is offered at IISc. The candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in +2/12th Standard. In addition, the candidate need to qualify in one of the national tests – KVPY/  IIT-JEE (Main) or (Advance)/ NEET.b. What are the subjects offered in Bachelor of Science (Research) program? There is no specific subject offered in Bachelor of Science (Research) program. The student must study Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology,  Earth and Environmental Science, Materials. Only in the fourth year a specialised subject will be given to the student based on the interest and performance of the student in the subject.

M Tech admission selection is only through GATE. M Des admission selection is through GATE/CEED followed by a Design Aptitude Test and interview; M Mgt admission selection is through GATE/GMAT/CAT followed by a group discussion and interview. After screening based on the GATE/CEED scores, design aptitude test, and interview will be conducted by the department.
