Hello Utsav Sarkar, yes indeed, for getting admission in postgraduate course in engineering many colleges have prescribed GATE as the qualifying examination for giving admissions. Now this examination is conducted for many subjects that are available for doing postgraduate studies. A student has to select the subject of choice for the subject in which he desires to study post graduation. You have rightly concluded that you will have to appear for the concerned paper of GATE for getting admission for M.Tech in aerospace engineering. Best wishes to you.

Candidates who are desirous to join the Undergraduate and Dual Degree Programmes offered by IIST are required to apply separately to IIST through the online application portal of IIST and follow the steps. Hello Suraj, yes fundamentally speaking students with M.Sc. Qualification haben allowed to appear for GATE which is the gateway examination for admission into post graduation in engineering. This examination in the year 2021 is going to be conducted by IIT Mumbai. But it seems that you are a bit late as the date for registration is already over. Astronomy and Astrophysics (Andhra Pradesh) at IISc Bangalore is a research programme Ph.D. and M.Tech Research) runs in a collaboration with IIA: ISRO and RRI. The basic eligibility criteria is given below. Educational qualifications: M.Sc. Or equivalent degree in Physical Sciences/ Mathematical Sciences/ Chemical Sciences or BE / B Tech or equivalent degree in any discipline or Graduates of 4-year Bachelor of Science programmes. So from above B.Tech CSE students are eligible for the asked programme with a valid GATE score.

IISc Bangalore is offering the following Integrated Ph.D. programs as under:

M.Sc. In Astrophysics is a full-time postgraduate course which covers both theoretical and observational aspects of astrophysics, with the course modules consisting of one compulsory module focused on building research skills in Astrophysics, and a variety of different optional modules that focus on topics such as Stars and Nebula, Gravitational Dynamics, and Accretion Physics. Enrolled students are trained in not only the fundamental aspects of Astrophysics, but also transferable skills such as programming, data analysis, problem solving, scientific writing, presentation and Science outreach, enhancing employability in and out of academia. This is a 2- year long course divided into two semesters, and the starting salary offered in India for successful postgraduates of the course lies between INR 5,000 and 60,000 monthly. The minimum eligibility required to be MET for admission to the course is graduation completed with Science from a recognised university with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
