There is tremendous scope in tourism and travel management as you can see, each state has come up with their own unique ads describing the beauty of their respective states. You can develop apps helping tourists and Government in managing travel and tourism in each state and the whole country. Thus, this becomes a contentious management issue that needs redressal. How to manage lakhs of tourists travelling as westerners find India an attractive place especially its culture heritage and yes, chaotic population. There are courses from higher B-Schools and universities imparting travel and tourism management. You can opt for them. Tourism industry is all about customer service and satisfaction. No book is going to teach you that. Ofcourse, you can train yourself in various CRS like Galileo, Amadeus, Worldspan or Abacus. Amadeus and Galileo are mostly used by most corporate travel houses and airlines. That will teach you how to make various reservations for hotel, Airlines and car rentals. You get into live inventory of the airline or hotel and are able to make new reservation or change existing ones.
Secondly, you can opt for a airline crew, if you have what they need. Jet being the leading paymaster after Air India. A crew is normally trained for a period of 3 months after they get selected. Trust me, joining institutions like frankfinn or alike is no good. Even if you are the best student from there, you still will be trained by the concerned airline according to their procedures laid down by DGCA.
But the foremost important thing is.do you have it in you. Remember, serving food is not the prime KRA of a crew. They are there to save oeople during any emergency even if that costs their life. You need to be a person who can understand what a person wants even before he ask you for it.
Travel is a huge industry, so be wise in choosing the field you want to get into. If you don't like your job after joining, you will never be able to grow.

There are a lot of job opportunities after doing MBA in Tourism. After doing MBA in tourism, you can get managerial positions in the tourism and travel industry.
There are a lot of the vacancies in the private sector. You can get jobs in various travel agencies, hotels, airlines, transport and cargo companies, etc.
If you want to start your own business in Travel and Tourism, there is a great scope for you if you do MBA in Tourism. Even in Public sectors, there are a lot of opportunities in the government tourism departments.

I would ask you to clear it. what kind of travel ?
here in travel & tourism industry, you have to "make people travel",
so , just ask yourself you wants to travel or you can make others to travel.
Talking about placements , they are very good in the current scenario, avg package is 20k + incentives. per month.
yes all students are placed till last, and more specifically , talking on the date(10-02-2016) till now only 15 students are remaining, and still companies like SOTC, is visiting for campus drive.
and About IITTM , it is the institute, which is the core Tourism & Travel B-school.
this is the "IIM of Tourism".
so learning is totally upon you.

To get admission in MBA International Business or Travel and Tourism you need:
- Graduation in any field with at least 50% aggregate marks.
- Then, you need to clear the selection process of the B-school, starting with an entrance test accepted by the B-School. For e.g. CAT, MAT, SNAP, CMAT.
