Admission to IITs through JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. ). Is primarily based on the JAM score. The JAM score is used to determine the rank of the candidate in the merit list, which is used for admission to M.Sc. (Two-Year), Joint M.Sc. Ph.D. M.Sc. Ph.D. Dual Degree and other postgraduate programs at the IITs and IISc. The B.Sc. Marks may be considered during the selection process if there is a tie between two or more candidates in the JAM merit list. In such cases, the higher aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the B.Sc. Degree programme may be used as a tie-breaker. However, it is important to note that the weightage give... View more

Hello Sandeep,
JEE Advanced is of course a very tough exam. But your rank in JEE Mains was reasonably well. I feel you should give one more try to JEE Advanced.

You can not predict the model or maximum marks for which the advanced exam will be set.
You are talking about robotic engineering !
There is no such specified branch.
You need to take a 5 year integrated course of CS+robotics.
Or you need to complete b tech in CS or ECE and then take up a post graduation course (MS or M.Tech) in robotics.
Anyways, first start preparing well for the exam.
You are interested in a branch which is the most preferred.
So you need to be ready to face immense competition.
All the best.

Dear,
You are to score 75% or more in average or you are to be within top 20 percentile (5% relaxation for SC/ST) in +2 Board Examination. Then with the merit list of JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced, you may be shortlisted and asked for counselling in IITs.

Hello, hope you are doing well.
No, you are not allowed to get admission in any IITs until and unless you have secured 75% in 12th examination. You need to clear the back exam and then score 75% in 12th, then only you will be eligible.
I would suggest you to with JEE Mains rank and get the best college including NITs and government colleges.

To get into IITs. 12th standard marks for SC/ ST and PwD candidates, the aggregate marks should be at least 65%. It will be difficult for you to get into IITs. You may look for other private and state engineering colleges.

Yes, even if you have less than 60% in your B.Tech, you can still get admission to an M.Tech programme in IITs or NITs by qualifying the GATE exam, as the primary selection criteria for M.Tech admissions in these institutes is your GATE score, not just your B.Tech percentage; however, some institutes might have a minimum percentage requirement which you should check before applying.

GATE is the deciding factor:Your GATE score will be the most important factor in determining your admission to an M.Tech programme in IITs and NITs.

Score of atleast 180+ in JEE Mains and advanced to get a CSE seat in top IITs/NITs/IIITs. In terms of rank in top 1000 in SC category will give you a good chance to get a specialisation of your choice. Just for reference check the below link-
