Yes, you can join B.Tech programme after completing Polytechnic in the Diploma of engineering. If you take admission through lateral entry examination after Polytechnic then you will get admission directly into second year of engineering. The Lateral entry examination is state level examination.

Yes, you can get admission in Jadavpur University for BE. All you have to do is to score good marks in JELET. JELET is Joint Entrance Examination for lateral entry to 2nd year of study in the four-year degree level courses for government engineering colleges and private self-financed colleges in West Bengal. If you have completed your Diploma with good marks then scoring the cut-off marks set by JU in JELET shall do.

After your Diploma you can go for B.Tech Lateral Entry in any of the streams. It will be of 3 Years rather then normal B.Tech which is of 4 years. It means you can straight way enroll into 2nd year of your Bachelor's degree. So you can select any branch of engineering depending upon your interest among CSE, Mechanical, electrical, Civil, Aerospace, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering or any other. Yes, Anna university offers lateral entry admissions for those who have completed 3 years diploma course. As you have completed diploma, you are eligible to get admission at Anna university for B.E/B TECH by lateral entry process.

I think you should go in Kanpur institute of technology. It's a very good college in terms of the facility and quality of education that it provides to the students. HBTU can also be other option.

If you are a diploma student you can join directly in the 2nd-year. Then there is no chance for lateral entry because they cant provide certificates for you.
