The registration will start in the mid of July. So, you are advised to visit DTU website regularly to check daily updates in Notice Tab. Remember the classes for LEET entry are in evening.

Yes, it is a very good way to pursue both. Also, you will get two degree, one is of Diploma and other is of B.Tech course, which will increase your experience. But, be attentive while pursuing the B.Tech course, because it is more practical based than the Diploma degree. It might led you to face some problem in starting. Also, as coin has two faces you have to face some disadvantage and advantage too while doing B.Tech regular way and you are in a lateral student.

You need all the documents required by NIT for admissions. Do not worry about everything else. For NIT, You need your 12th marksheet and school-leaving certificate. Admissions have been started from 15th June itself and the first round will go up to 25th June.
Best of luck.

Dear Najah Jabir,
After doing Diploma engineering, we can get direct admission in 2nd year of engineering through LEET exam which is conducted by each state university and some deemed universities. It is because the subject we study in the first year of engineering are already studied by Diploma students and that's why they can get admission in the 2nd year.

Early this year in January 2011 AICTE hasannouncedhike in the engineering seats quota for lateral entry & diploma holders. The hike will come in to effect with effect from this academic year.So far till Last year (2010) only 10% of the total number of seats were allocated for lateral entry students, this year on the quota will be 20% for diploma holders willing to join engineering courses.
Increase in quota will benefit diploma holders to join professional degrees, a good initiative by AICTE to help students and colleges that struggle to fill the engineering seats every year.
