Yes for Admissions in MBA one must appear in entrance tests, such as CAT/MAT/SNAP/XAT etc.but these one's are acceptable by most of colleges.

Since you plan to give CAT after three years ,it would be better to now concentrate on your M.Sc & try and score well. Preparation for CAT doesn't require more than 6 months of sincere effort. CAT exams are normally conducted between Nov & Feb ,so one should start preparing 6 months prior to the date of the open test.

Yes, you can get admission because clearing Diploma in Engineering from a recognized board is the only eligibility criteria for Lateral entry in Jabalpur Engineering College.
You should consult with admission authorities if you are eligible for lateral transfer. Most universities permit lateral transfers in the beginning of the course(1st and 2nd year). Moreover students having a good academic record have a better chance of getting a lateral transfer. Yes you can join an engineering college after completing Diploma, by writing an entrance test conducted by the government.
Your diploma percentage is quite low because most of the colleges and Universities want 60% marks students in the lateral entry. Moreover, there colleges which I can suggest for you, you can call of them or email them but do that first because the admission time is about to end up. B.Tech through lateral entry admission process varies in different engineering colleges. Admission in DTU is based on marks scored in Diploma in engineering. The admission in Manipal University is based on its B.Tech entrance examination. Some states conduct LEET exam for lateral entry admission in the state engineering colleges. You are advised to make target universities list and then look at their website for lateral entry admission process.
Hi Lochana, Obtaining lateral entry abroad is not easy. Every university has its own specific norms, you must not only meet the admission requirements but also the credit point requirements. You have to check with some universities, email them and find out. Also you need to check any foreign university tie ups with your current university in India.
Of course, you can apply for B. Tech or BE in any college or university of India for lateral entry. Every university allows a Diploma student in any stream to take a lateral entry admission in 2nd year of B. Tech. So, you are eligible for that. So, don't get confused. Lateral entry is possible after completing Diploma. The lateral entry in 2nd year is restricted to similar branch. If you want to change the branch, then you would have to appear for CET exam and get admission in 1st year.
