Hello Naveen,
There is no limit in the salary packages for the IIT graduates. Since mechanical engineering is one of the top branches in engineering, the salary packages will be really huge. And it also varies every year with the talent of the graduates (IIT)
The average package will be Rs. 5-10 lakhs per annum and the maximum package may go upto Rs. 20-30 lakhs per annum or even more higher depending on the student .
The highest ever package offered at IITs (IIT Kanpur) was Rs. 1.34 crores per annum by Microsoft, but I'm not sure about the branch (may be CSE).
Hello Aarushi,
A rank of about 2000 in JEE Advanced would fetch you a seat. But this year, being a girl student, additional seats have been authorised and hence for girl students, the cutoff could be further lowered.
Best wishes.

The best tip is to do the smart work rather then the hard work and now understand how you can do the smart work rather than doing hard work. Like taking out the blueprint and understanding the main thing what is the most important thing in the syllabus.
Hello Vaskar Das, it's very nice to hear from you that your dream is to work at NASA. Like our own ISRO, NASA too requires specialists in different streams like mathematics, physics, mechanical engineering, medicine, metallurgy, etc. So frankly speaking you don't have to be an aeronautical engineer from IIT Mumbai to get a job in NASA. Don't feel pity for yourself for being physically challenged. There is a large number of such people who have achieved greatness in this world by sheer dint of hard work and determination. Of course, being a Govt institute, IIT Mumbai also reserves seats for physically challenged students and offers all help... View more
