No, you don't have to write an exam to get into SASTRA university if you're coming in via lateral entry. You'll also be studying the 2nd year directly which is an added bonus.

Lateral entries are allowed in similar subjects. However, you are advised to visit DTE website for registering yourself as candidate for admission to 2nd year.

Did you do your Diploma before doing B.Tech? If yes, then you would have better chances for placements than normal B.Tech courses and the placement completely depends on the campusing done in your college/university.

Based on your 1st year B.Tech CS score how can you get admission in fourth year of B.Tech Computer Science bypassing 2 years ( 2nd and 3rd year ) of education.
