Hello Rohit,
That is not actually the case. They say so because the older IITs are already well established than the new ones. They have shown better results, placement records and rankings too.
But the new IITs do require some time to establish themselves and to attain the reputation of the older ones. It is not that they are not good, it is that they are not preferable in comparison with older ones.
Anyways, all these are government institutions and so you need to hesitate to go for them as they will be better in all aspects.
Hi Deepak,
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are autonomous public institutes of higher education, located in India.[1] They are governed by the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 which has declared them as institutions of national importance alongside National Institutes of Technology[2] and lays down their powers, duties, and framework for governance etc.[3][4] The Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 lists twenty-three institutes (after the last amendment in 2016).[5] Each IIT is an autonomous institution, linked to the others through a common IIT Council, which oversees their administration. Hi Devendra, I am sorry say that Diploma holder are not eligible to get admission in IIT. IIT does not offers lateral entry admissions to Diploma holders. To be eligible to get admission in IIT the candidate must have completed 12th standard with mathematics, physics and chemistry subjects from a recognized board and the candidate must have to appear, qualify and secure good rank in JEE Main and Advanced examinations. So, being a Diploma holder, you cannot get admission in IIT.
Best of luck!
Yes, you have slim chances of getting admission in newly opened IITs with 108 marks.

The cutoff rank required for IIT Madras admission depends on the rounds, courses, specialisations and categories. If you belong to the General AI quota, the JEE Advanced first-round maximum cutoff rank required for BTech admission was 7648. This is the maximum closing rank required for admission. So, students must target a lower cutoff to secure their seats at this institute.

You will get the same degree i.e Bachelor's in technology, so choose the branch according to your interests.
All the best.
There are two ways.
First, apply through the various internship programmes. Keep a check on Internships in India | Internshala for updates on such programmes to various IITs.
Secondly, the one I prefer, start preparing a mailing list of email ids of professors, visiting the websites of the IITs you'd prefer to intern at, and start mailing them, modifying your cover letter a bit for each prof. Send around 100-200 mails to different profs.
P.S. I got an internship in the latter process.
Hello Ameya Jain,
Actually speaking, even 100 percentile in JEE Mains examination conducted by NTA will not get you a seat in IIT. However a good score is definitely required in the examination to get clearance for appearing in JEE Advanced. It is the score which you obtain in JEE Advanced that will be the deciding factor for admissions in all of the IIT's. It goes without saying that you must do well in JEE Mains so that you are in the zone where your percentile is enough to get you qualify for JEE Advanced. Best wishes for your dream of getting into IIT for studies.
Hi Mahesh,
I am sharing eligibility criteria for IIT, so have a look. You will have to satisfy at least one of the following two criteria for admission to IITs: Should have scored at least 75% aggregate marks in 10+2th standard (or equivalent) board examination. For SC/ ST and PwD candidates, the aggregate marks should be at least 65%. Hope This will help you.
Best of luck.
You can apply for JEE main only. If you clear the JEE main exam, then also you would not be eligible for appearing the JEE Advanced because for it, you should have 75% aggregate marks in class 12th. Best of luck.
Thank You.

It is based on the requirement set by the IIT which is updated on time to time basis. If you secured 75% marks in 12th CBSE then you shall not face any problem in getting admission into IIT but for the placement opportunities it depends on company policies . Generally top companies prefer students who have secured more than 80% in class 12 but some companies also prefer the students who have secured more than 70% marks in class 12.

I can't recommend a specific college to you (against community guidelines)

Ultimately, both IIT Delhi's Production and Industrial Engineering programme and IIT Kanpur's Chemical Engineering programme offer excellent education and opportunities. It is advisable to research the curriculum, faculty, research opportunities, and career prospects in both fields to make an informed decision based on your personal preferences and goals.

Wishing you a great future.
