Marks needed to qualify is called cutoff marks. Every year it changes. It is not fixed. This year, the cutoff for ST category is 29. So, for getting eligible for JEE advanced student need to score minimum of 29 number. And, getting the admission through JEE main only then student need to score minimum of 90 above. The admission into IITs for undergraduate engineering courses is strictly based on the ranks In JEE Advanced exam. But, you need to qualify JEE Mains to appear for JEE Advanced. There is no other way to get admission at IITs.
