In my opinion, you should opt mechanical from IIT-Indore because IIT-Indore provides good mechanical faculties, good course curriculum, good placements and good infrastructure also.

Both are great institutions. But if I were in your position I would chose IIT, Madras because of its ranking and teaching and much more. I don't know much about IIT, Hyderabad. Good luck.

For IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, the Round 1 cutoff for Chemical Engineering were 2207 and 2507, respectively for the General AI category candidates. You have a good chance of admission at IIM- C/FMS and other premium B-Schools. I would suggest you to prepare for current affairs, B.Tech related basics, macroeconomics and some puzzles and mathematics as such for WAT & PI.

<p>IIT Roorkee is one of the best college for B.Tech. Yes, the college is a good choice for B.Tech as the faculty of the college is also well educated and has friendly behavior towards the students. The college also offers good placement to the students the college has a good campus area and provides campus placement at a high placement rate of about 88% and the Hostel Facilities are also very good. The hostel has AC Facilities and, Wi-Fi facilities also. The mess food of the Hostel is also very good in taste. The College also provides Summer Internship to the students.&nbsp;</p>

It depends on your marks in the 1st year because only a limited seats are vacant in that branch. So, the student with higher marks will get the preference. So, if your among the toppers of your college, then you should approach your registrar or the dean of students.

Well, I think I am capable enough to answer the question as I took a drop and cleared JEE then. First of all, it is really necessary to know in what concepts you are sound and in what concepts you can't even handle board level questions. JEE Mains exam is of 360. And you need for JEE advance there will be two papers of 186 marks each. In order to qualify will good rank, you need 60% atleast. You may qualify at 50% also all depends on cut-off.

Taking a drop or not is solely your decision. Are you ready to study for one more year? It takes dedication, vigor, and motivation. The last thing is hard to keep. Students lose motivation after some months and end up performing bad. If you are sturdy headed, go for a drop. Personally, I would recommend joining the college.
