Hello Tejas,
Admission for IIT-B in Aeronautical Engineering branch. This branch in this IIT is considered as the best in country and hence you need to be in top 500 to get admission. Best wishes.
The admission committee decides your admission on overall criteria of your previous academic performance, work experience, performance in design test, and performance in interview, portfolio and CEED scores, so yes, your scores in class 12th do matter. However, they consider the overall score of your application and if you do well in other areas you may still have a chance.
Good luck.

Prefer IIT Bombay anytime over State School of Design, when it comes to B.Des Industrial design. If you have a credible body of specimen work done by you, as is expected of the students of top-notch design schools, you might get placed right on the Campus itself.or you might get work orders as a freelancer. The second option, though paying less at the initial stage, keeps the prospects open for you to get enhanced earnings as the reputation grows. So, before your academic terms end, build an impressive spec file, and have soft copies ready. If there is any work worth claiming IPR on, do take care to get these registered, before circulation...
