<p>The total tuition fee for IIT Bombay MDes is INR 2.7 Lacs as per an unofficial source. <strong>Students belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD category</strong> or a child of institution staff are <strong>exempted </strong>from paying the tuition fee. There is a concessional and a non-concessional fee for candidates belonging to General/ EWS/ OBC-NCL category. The concessional is offered on tuition fee. <p>Yes, IIT Bombay conducts Common Entrance Exam for Design or CEED for admission to MDes programme. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted in online mode. It is a three-hour exam conducted once in a year. Candidates shortlisted based on CEED rank have to also appear for IDC written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted aspirants are further require to come for an interview round for final selection.</p>

Approximately 20% of the students are beneficiaries of the various scholarships are from various endowment funds. Additionally, a few other scholarships are available centrally from IIT-B. All the IIT aspirants have to sit for JEE Main and afterward, JEE Advanced. Only the top 2, 24,000 scores in JEE Main will become eligible to sit for JEE Advanced.
