After successfully completion of 12th class, you need to attempt JEE main exam for the NIT college. You need minimum 120-150 marks to get any of NIT. If you want to get good branch then you need to score 170+ marks. For getting into IIT, you need to attempt both exam those are JEE Mains and JEE advance. If you clear JEE main then only you are eligible for JEE advance AND you need to score more than 75% in 12th class to attempt JEE Advanced. You have to clear Advance as well for IIT. Hence you can get admission in IIT and NIT. Best of luck for future. Thanks

For the following reasons, NITs are not as famous as IITs:
1. Attention: The IITs usually receive lots of media attention and are treated as a symbol of intelligence among the general public. It is common to see JEE toppers as IITians rather than NITs.
2. Global Ranking: Many top IITs, such as IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi, have been ranked in the top 400 universities in the QS world ranking. This further makes IITs more globally recognised than NITs.
3. Government funding: Since IITs are governed by the central government, there is usually equality in funding and support. This ensures better research and curriculum in IITs compar... View more

Hello Abdullah. I take that you will be appearing in 12th boards with PCM. Now in case you have not taken any coaching for JEE Advanced, I recommend you to enroll into one. Next thing to do is understand each and every concept to the depth and practicing as much as you can. Solve previous year papers in a time bound manner. Understand each question you got wrong. Try to score maximum in each mock test you take. Perseverance along with brilliance will take you very far.
All the best!

Studying at IITs and NITs is a dream of many students who study for hours to get admission into IITs and NITs. However, there are a few drawbacks as well:
1. There is a very high level of competition within IITs and NITs as every student is an achiever.
2. You will bear the burden of your family and friends' aspirations, as you will be studying at a top engineering college.
3. You may have been perceived as arrogant by non-IIT/NIT peers.
4. You will be subjected to greater academic pressures than other college students.
5. You will also feel pressured to get a good placement also, again due to the tag of being an II... View more
