This is a good score in JEE advance. There are full chances of getting a good IIT. But from my side, I would tell you to give your first preference to your field of interest. Don't just blindly go for top IIT. All the IITs are good. It depends on you how you perform. All the best.
Apart from IITs, next best are NITs (Surathkal, Warangal, Trichy, Rourkela and Jamshedpur). BITS-Pilani/Mesra are also good institutes. Other good institutes are Thapar University, Delhi University, Manipal and SASTRA. Do check the below link as well:

The Computer Science programme at BITS Pilani would be on par or even slightly superior for students specifically interested in the computer Science discipline because of its industry-focused curriculum and well-known practice school programme offering real-world experience. In contrast, IITs may be more suitable for a general engineering background with deep theoretical knowledge in various disciplines.

If you are unable to crack JEE and do not get selected for IITs or NITs, it is not the end of your engineering career dream. In order to have good engineering degree, you may try for BITS, BIT, VIT University, Manipal University, Shiv Nadar University, Tapar University, DTU, NSIT, NIIT University, JIT University etc. by participating in their admission process. Few engineering colleges under UPTU such as JSS, AKG etc. are equally good. If you dream of doing B.Tech from IITs or NITs only, you may evaluate taking one year drop for engineering entrance examination preparations.

Hi,
Here are the advantages I can think of :
1. You're at a sweet spot in terms of competition. The culture isn't as competitive as IITs but way better than local engineering campuses.
2. You get as many opportunities to learn as you get in any IITs
3. Education is cheaper. Practically Free. In some cases even cheaper than IITs although if the recent bills are passed the cost is likely to rise.
4. Lot of scholarship opportunities - both merit and need based. There are few student grants also.
5. Placement statistics of top NITs are at least comparable to that of IITs
6. Most NITs are located far from Mega Cit... View more

Hello Jonathan,
Kindly, understand that you have to do well in 12th. In fact you should get 75% or more. So, do not skip studies of 12th. Yes, it's a good idea to take drop of 1 year. Give yourself this year to prepare for your future. In our life one year is actually nothing. But, do remember this year is for the preparation.
Both IISC and IIT have equal standing and thier acceptance in India is same. IITs have a little better brand recognisation abroad.
