Hi,
If you have completed your Diploma then you are eligible for admission in the second year in any branch. Many of the regular colleges offer distance B.Tech with a minimal fee. You need to find a good college for your degree.

Hi,
You first need to be very clear of doing this specific course and how your career will shape so read this article and then decide if it's your call or not. IGNOU offers certificate course as well as a diploma in counselling so you may take it up. NCERT also offers diploma in it.

No, you cant get a lateral entry into MBA. It has to be wide an open test. In case you want to pursue E-MBA/part-time MBA/distance MBA then an open test may not be required, however in such cases, prior work experience of 3 years is also required.

Normally lateral entry connotes entry in the 2nd year of engineering after the completion of Diploma in the similar branch of engineering. But after B.Sc, lateral entry is not allowed in B.Tech.

You could go for lateral entry, but you should ensure that you block your seat at SMU. Lateral entry is normally granted to students who have a good academic record. You should check with admission authorities if you are eligible for lateral admission and then proceed further.
