HI, both are pretty good field to study. It actually depends what interest you the most. A degree in aerospace engineering and a degree in aeronautical engineering both prepare students to design aircraft. In fact, aeronautical engineering is a branch of aerospace engineering. Though the two degree programs teach similar engineering principles, there is a critical distinction between designing for air and space. Aeronautical engineering is the practice of designing and building aircraft, like airplanes and helicopters. while in aerospace engineering, professionals design and build units like space shuttles and space stations. Hi Athish,
To be an aeronautical engineer one should have a graduate degree (B.E/B.Tech.) or at least a diploma in Aeronautics. The degree and postgraduate degree courses are offered by the engineering colleges and Institutes of Technology (IITs), and the diploma courses are available at polytechnics.
The basic eligibility criteria for a BE / B.Tech is 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and must have a fairly high percentage of marks in the aggregate. One must also pass the qualifying exam JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) conducted by the IIT's.

Hi Krishna,
The eligibility criteria for pursuing a master's degree are holding a bachelor's degree in B.E/B.Tech in Aerospace or any other equivalent branches of engineering.
Admissions are done on the basis of GATE score or often an entrance. However, it varies from institute to institute as different institutes have different admission eligibility and criteria.
For the list of institutes, refer to the below link
