Yes, it is a demanding branch in government and private sectors. However, you have to choose any good college including faculty, placement, environment, affiliations, etc. You must note that with your hard work to pass all the semester without any backlogs, you have ample of jobs in government sectors awaiting.

It's quite late to answer your queries. Normally, fee in engineering colleges particular private colleges range about Rs.1 lakh per annum. It can increase in case of very reputed colleges.

It depends on your interests but I personally find civil and architecture better and trending especially architecture as you can do both government job along with something of your own at the same time.
