Hi Vivek,
You have a very good profile and the chances are very high. I will also advice you to learn German language. Though, it is not compulsory for MS students, but it is highly recommended. You must also take the IELTS exam. Your internship and project work, reference letters from teachers, statement of interest will be very important. You can refer to the DAAD website for admissions process.

Automobile engineering is a super specialisation in mechanical engineering. It is niche specialisation which has comparatively less scope in comparison to mechanical engineering. Automobile engineers can be employed only in automobile and it's ancillary industries but mechanical engineers can be employed by all type of industries.

Automobile engineering degree course is offered by limited engineering colleges in India whereas every engineering college offers a degree course in mechanical engineering. In order to enhance your career growth in the education industry, I will like to recommend you to pursue M.Tech / Ph.D in mechanical engineering in comparison to mechanical engineering. This may also help you to switch career to core mechanical engineering industry.
