For engineering you need to write JEE main paper 1 and for architecture paper 2.
Only if you have a good score and a top rank you can get NIT, Trichy or else you can get other NITs or GFTIs for architecture.
For architecture in IITs there is a different process.

So, be careful about that you can't compare both but you can relate both of them as architecture is extended part of civil engineering.

For example: If you have allotted a seat in NIT-Trichy for Mechanical branch then you have to go NIT-Trichy and accept the seat as well as verify your documents in that institution within the schedule unless wherever you live (like someone in Bhopal).
So be careful about that.
