Railway Station Master is considered as one of the reputed officials in a Railway Station. A station master is responsible for every official activity that happens in the railway station he is appointed in. Railway Recruitment Board conducts computer based online examination to appoint Station Masters. The written examination comprises of two stages- Preliminary and Final Examination followed by Aptitude Test and Document Verification at last. The syllabus of prelims examination for Station Master Post comprises of four subjects-Arithmetic Ability, General Knowledge, General Intelligence and General English (Optional). The exam conducted is objective type and consists of Multiple Choice Questions. The exam is consisting of total 100 marks and the time allotted is 90 minutes.
