The minimum eligibility required for admission is to pass Class 12 or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 45% for open and 40% for reserved categories. If you want to get admission to the BTech Biotechnology course, you should have at least 50 to 60% marks in the PCM/PCB/PCMB subjects in Class 12 board exams. Also, you should give relevant entrance exams and score very good marks. A lot of colleges also give admission on the basis of Class 12 merit where they release merit cutoff lists and often take GD or PI rounds to give you seat for the course at the college. So, you should get excellent marks in Class 12 as the cutoffs are usually high.

For studying the BTech Automobile Engineering course at popular colleges in India, you should have at least 50 to 60% marks in Class 12 board exams in the PCM subjects. This is the basic eligibility which can differ from one college to another.

Also, you have to give relevant entrance tests and get very good marks in the same so that you can get a seat at some decent Automobile Engineering college as the cutoffs are usually very high. You will also come across a lot of colleges that give admission on the basis of Class 12 merit and take extra rounds like the PI or GD.

In order to apply for a BTech course, a candidate must have passed your Class 12 (or equivalent) examination with a minimum of 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC, ST, and PwD) from a recognised board, and have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. IIT Roorkee admission 2025 is primarily entrance-based. The candidates are selected through national-level tests conducted by various authorities. IIT Roorkee offers UG and PG degrees in the fields of Engineering, Science, Architecture, Management and Social Sciences.

For admission to BTech at NIT Hamirpur, students must pass Class 12 with 75% aggregate with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with any one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject (for SC/ST, 65% aggregate is required).

ICFAI University, Raipur admissions are primarily merit-based. Candidates must also fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements for the respective courses. The basic eligibility for UG courses is Class 12 whereas graduation is required for PG programmes. Further, candidates seeking admission to the BTech programme at ICFAI Raipur must be Class 12 passed or equivalent with at least 45% aggregate with a pass in each of the Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English.

The basic eligibility for most of the colleges is to have at least 60% marks in the PCM subjects in Class 12 and a score of 50% in English. Also, medical fitness is an important part of the eligibility for this course. You should be in the best of your health and have good eye vision without any issue of color blindness as per the rules of the maritime industry.
You will have to present a fitness certificate at the time of admission and may have to give a medical test before your admission is confirmed.
