For BTech admission, DTU accepts JEE Main followed by JAC counselling and the entire admission process is conducted via Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi. To be eligible, candidates must fulfil the below eligibility criteria:
- Delhi Region candidates (85% of seats): Aspirants passing the qualifying exam from a recognised school/ college/ institute located within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi will be considered for the Delhi Region only
- Outside Delhi Region candidates (15% of seats): Aspirants passing the qualifying examination from a recognised school/ college/ institute located outside the National Capital Territory

For the last academic year, i.e., 2022, the cut off for General category candidates in All India quota for BTech in Dyestuff Technology at Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai was 103920. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant. The cutoff trend for BTech at Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 79970. In 2022, it decreased to 79204. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 79970 to 79204 for OBC, SC, ST, EWS and PWD categories. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for Engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories, however, the ranks are slightly different.

ICT will release 6-8 rounds of JEE Main cutoffs for the BTech course. Check the points mentioned below:
- The JEE Main score of the candidate

The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for BTech in Oils, Oleochemicals and Surfactants Technology at Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai other than General category are - 79204 for OBC, 79204 for SC, 79204 for ST, 79204 for EWS, 79204 for PWD. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

For the 2022 academic year, the cut off was 51899 for General category candidates in All India quota for BTech in Food Engineering and Technology in Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai.
