NIT Sikkim Review on different aspects
Placements: If you are capable enough, you'll be getting decent placements. Overall statistics fall about 80% every year with an average package of 9-10 LPA, including 90-95% for CSE, ECE, and 80-85% for core branches like EEE, ME, CE. Some major recruiters are CDAC, CDOT, BEL, NVIDIA, L&T, VEDANTA, GENPACT, DELOITTE, IBM, SLB, HCLTech, and many others as well.
Infrastructure: Operating from its temporary campus at a very remote location of Ravangla, it has seen some advancements in the recent financial year, but the thing that will be problematic is sharing with 5-bedded rooms, so it will be very much tough for you to follow your own routine or studies. But excluding this hostel facility, the rest of the facilities are okay, type. Classrooms are well equipped with smart boards, and labs are also well equipped.
Faculty: Will say it's really hectic. The curriculum for BTECH is to do all the things including theory, practical, viva, mid-term, and end-term exams and projects in the final year as well. Almost 5-6 hours of daily classes and 2 mid-term exams will be there with one end-term. But this is more or less the same in all other IITs and NITs as well. So you can't complain about it.
Other: Enjoy being at one of the most beautiful places in India, surrounded by a serene view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and forests as well. So much peace and zero percent of chaos around you in terms of vehicles or construction. So enjoy your four years being at NIT Sikkim and learn lots of life lessons as well here.

I am satisfied with the placements of this college.
Placements: 80 percent of the students in mechanical engineering department got placement; the highest package was 17 LPA and the lowest package was 5.6 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Mahindra, Bajaj, Maruti, TVS, Deloitte, etc. About 100 percent of students get internships, and 60% are paid internships, and in placement, most of the roles offered are GET.
Infrastructure: NIT Sikkim has a temporary campus but the facilities and infrastructure are good. 24*7 wi-fi and electricity are there and all types of labs are present. Most of the labs are open at night as well, so you can work at night as well. The quality of food is average.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They are very supportive and always guide you in your future. The way of teaching is very simple and friendly and the course curriculum is very updated so that students get ready for industry. There is no significant marking .
Other: Mechanical engineering is the evergreen branch that will never disappoint you. With a lot of industry exposure, mechanical engineering always relies on you to do engineering.

Completely satisfied with faculty and campus life.
Placements: Branches like CSE and ECE receive good placement offers, but if we consider the core branches of NIT Sikkim like Mechanical and Civil, the placement rate drops to 50-60%. The location and connectivity of NIT Sikkim also affect the placement rates. However, being in a core branch and supplementing it with some coding increases the chances of placement. In 2023, a student from EEE secured a 44 LPA offer from a software-based company. The overall placement percentage at NIT Sikkim stands at 84%, with a median of 8-9 LPA.
Infrastructure: When comparing the infrastructure of other NITs with NIT Sikkim, it's quite disappointing because NIT Sikkim currently operates from its temporary campus at Ravangla. Despite the temporary campus, it boasts a great location surrounded by mountains and lush greenery. Everything is available on campus except for the hostel for first-year students. Yes, first-year students have to stay outside the campus in Ravangla city. The college provides both bus services and hostels for first-year students. Additionally, Wi-Fi is available on campus but not at the first-year hostel. Enjoy.
Faculty: The faculty and staff at NIT Sikkim are supportive and helpful in nature. With the exception of 1-2 individuals, all teach well. If you're a good student, you won't encounter any issues with the teaching methodology. If you face challenges in any topic, faculty members also allow you to ask for personal assistance within the department.
Other: Overall, NIT Sikkim is good, although the crowd here is very limited. In our branch, there are only 22 students, and the total number of students in our batch is approximately 150. NIT Sikkim also organizes its annual cultural fest called "Udgam" and tech fest named "Abhiyantran." Moreover, various extracurricular activities happen here from time to time.

It is a good and beautiful college.
Placements: The placement rate of this year is above 80%. Top recruiting companies are Western Digital, Autodesk, Deloitte, etc. Our college provides 100% internships. Students got internships in good companies like BHEL, IOCL, etc. All students got placed in our college. Placements are good in our college.
Infrastructure: Our college provides average facilities. We have a good Wi-Fi connection. The power supply is not good. Power cuts frequently on campus. The hostel is not much good. The food served in the mess is not much good. Around five students can share each hostel room.
Faculty: All teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. The quality of the teaching is above average. The course curriculum is good. The pass percentage is a bit less. All teachers are very supportive.
Other: Our college conducts an annual fest named Udgam and a cultural fest named Abhiyantaram. It organises technical fests.

Overall, placements are amazing here.
Placements: In terms of placements, NIT Sikkim is also good as compared to newly established NITs. In 2020, overall, the placement rate was nearly 50%-60% in mechanical branches. The major recruiter here is L&T, and the salary package offered is around 5 LPA to 10 LPA. About 100% of students did internships in 2020.
Infrastructure: There are good facilities in our hostel, and 24x7 high-speed Wi-Fi is available. There is a good library and also very good labs and classrooms. In NIT Sikkim, classrooms are also amazing. The hostel is very good, and the quality of food served is awesome. I am also a mess in charge here. Medical facilities are a little bit and not good because of a hill area. There are many indoor games and sports facilities.
Faculty: In NIT Sikkim, teachers are very helpful and clear all doubts in the classroom. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable. This course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. There is a very tough exam pattern in every semester. In one semester, there are three exams. Approximately 100% of students pass every semester.
Other: Our college provides better placements and enough knowledge to become a good engineer. I just wish that we would get permanent campus placement. Our college conducts regular events. Students who are not financially great will get scholarships. There are some extracurricular activities.

Everything is good in this college.
Placements: Every year 25-32 students pursue this course and around 44-55% of students are placed every year from the mechanical branch. This percentage is increasing every year, and the highest salary package offered is 10 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA. College provides 100% of internships to all students, and L&T is the top recruiting company. The roles offered are automotive engineer and construction engineer.
Infrastructure: All facilities are available like gym, playground, library, and Wi-Fi also and currently it is operated under temporary campus but the permanent campus is under construction and will be completed within 3-4 years. The food quality is good, students will get 5 days non-vegetarian here, and there is an ambulance van on the campus for any emergency.
Faculty: All faculty members are Ph.D. holders from top colleges, and they are experts in their teaching careers. All course curriculum is set like top IITs and students will get knowledge as most industries are required these days and students have to study properly to get good marks in the semester. The pass percentage is 35%.
Other: This college is situated at the best place and students will feel like heaven there, I wish students would get permanent campus as soon as possible. There is no crowd and every year government gives scholarships to those students who are not financially strong.

Review of NIT Sikkim - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: I'm a second-year undergraduate student at NIT Sikkim. It's a newly established NIT in 2009, and it's still operating from its temporary campus at Ravangla South Sikkim. Overall, the placement percentage is nearly about 70%, and almost 100% for branches like CSE and EEE. In core branches, it's less than 50%.
Infrastructure: It has all the resources available that an NIT should have, despite a newly established NIT. It has proposed a permanent campus in Khamdong East Sikkim. It will take at least 3-4 years to get shifted to its permanent campus. There is good Wi-Fi on campus. It has good classrooms and library.
Faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified and knowledgeable. NIT Sikkim also has a super computer named Param Kanchenjunga at campus, and the campus progressed a lot in the past 5 years (2016-2021). The professors are very good and cooperative and knowledgeable. The institution is good for harnessing resources and country's human resource enhancement.
Other: It has technical and cultural fests like Avantran and many more. It has all the national and state-level scholarships available. The college is surrounded by the great Kanchenjunga.

Review of NIT Sikkim - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: I am a second-year B.Tech student of NIT Sikkim, and I have completed my first year at NIT Sikkim with good marks. Now I am in the 4th semester, and my studies are going well. It is a newly established NIT, and it is going on in its temporary campus at Ravangla. So, placements are fewer, but it is good in all newly established NIT. In 2020 overall placement percentage is nearly 70%. Placements are almost 100% for branches like CSE, ECE and EEE. Now for branches like civil and mechanical engineering, it is slightly less which is the same in all colleges. Nearly 10 out of 30 students got placed from these core branches. It is day by day increasing because now in our college, the labs' facility is becoming very good. In the coming days, it will surely become 70% to 80%. Our college provides internships to all students in core as well as tech companies like L&T Construction, L&T Infotech, IBM, Microsoft, Intel, TCS, etc.
Infrastructure: Despite a temporary campus, NIT Sikkim still provides all academics and research facilities on the campus. Library, digital classrooms, laboratories, workshop, lecture hall, multi-purpose hall, gyms, hostels and many other facilities are available, which is much required for academic and research activities. NIT Sikkim also has a supercomputer named PARAM Kanchenjunga at the campus, and the campus progressed a lot in the past 5 years, i.e., 2016 to 2021.
Faculty: Due to coronavirus, all institutes are going for online classes. Teachers in our first semester are not able to teach us well because they are teaching for the first time. We are the first batch to study online classes, so the understanding between students and teachers is not good in the first semester. As time passed, our faculty members worked hard, and they cleared all doubts. We can call our sir or madam for any query. They provide us with notes, books, PDFs and also important video lectures so that we can understand every concept. In our college, 2 types of exams are taken. The first exam consists of 2 exams that are mid-term exams in which 10 marks are for the written exam, and 10 marks are for the viva exam. Viva exam is taken with video opened. Type-2 exams are the last exams that are written. About 25 marks are provided for assignments, and 10 makes are for reports.
Other: I am interested in electrical engineering, but my JEE Main rank is less, so I was not able to take that branch. However, now our mechanical branch is also good. In this AutoCAD, solid work, etc., are very interesting topics. You also can change your branch if you get 8 to 8.5 CGPA in the first year.
